Our building used to be the Briggs Smith Pharmacy.  The pharmacy was located in the back.  There was a soda fountain/lunch counter along the brick wall, some booths and magazine racks along with a scattering of merchandise displays.  During the renovation we found a few old medicine bottles and a horseshoe in the dirt floor.  We are trying to restore these items and hope to display them in the restaurant as part of the history.

The second floor of this building had never been used.  During renovation, no nails, screws or any other signs of tampering were found.  The side of the building we occupy did not have a stairway for access.  All the brick upstairs is as it was 100 years ago.  We simply washed off the dust and sprayed a coating on the brick to preserve it and seal it for health reasons.  No sandblasting was done so the brick finish is natural.
